Volunteer Audition: Deathtrap by Ira Levine

at El Barbaro Productions - Sydney

I wish to invite budding actors and performing arts students to audition for my 2017 production of Deathtrap by Ira Levin.

Deathtrap was written by Ira Levin in 1978 with many plot twists and which references itself as a play within a play. It is in two acts with one set and five characters.

Rehearsals will be either on a Saturday or a Sunday (late morning to early afternoon), in the CBD area, at my home near Hyde Park in the city.
(this is where the auditions will be held also).

Performance date is on 25th November 2017, at the Chatswood RSL Club Auditorium.
I know it’s still quite a while from now, but based on my last year's experience scheduling can be a nightmare for students, or working people (with 9-5 jobs) like myself, so it’s a good idea to allow plenty of time.
We may have to rehearse in the evenings as the performance date gets closer.

My definition of a good actor is someone who is fun to work with, adaptable, and capable of (and is open to) being directed and taking instructions. And most importantly, someone who truly enjoys flaunting their inner passion in front of a live audience, and creating magic out of something mundane - all in the name of art.

I’m a small time producer, and I’m hoping to donate the proceeds of this play to the Movember foundation, but we can discuss a small remuneration instead, later on if you prefer.

Please forward your resume with a profile photo.
