Full-time Assistant Head of Wardrobe

at Dragone Macau Limited Macau SAR

Objectives
 To assist the Head of Wardrobe to organize the daily operations of the team as a wardrobe department for a large scale show.

 Maintain a “Teamwork Attitude” with developing, coaching, and advising the team members with understanding their role and responsibilities within the wardrobe department.

 Maintain a “Positive Work Environment” in both forms – communication and maintaining an organized workshop.

 Maintain a “Follow Through” communication of all information in regards to the department with full support to the HOD, Leads, and Deputies with sharing that information in all areas of the operation of the workshop, company, and production.

 Maintain a pro-active approach to problem solving and solutions to support the department, as well as team member development.

 Lead confidently, as well as assist in developing and coaching confidence within team members to assist them to becoming leaders.

2. Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible / Accountable
 Responsible for overseeing wardrobe department policies, procedures, and other directives with cast and crew during daily/show operations as directed by the HOD.

 Manage and Lead the Wardrobe Department to maxinise overall staff performance.

 Communicate all notes, alterations, and artistic requirements to the HOD, Leads, and Deputies in a timely matter.

 HOD or AHOD must be present to assist and oversee all promotional events, photo shoots, parades, marketing events, and job fairs.

 Responsible for the purchase and maintenance of workshop supplies, equipement, laundry goods, and consumables.

 Purchase artist’s training gear for on boarding artist and cast change over.




 Purchase Show Crew Blacks

 Purchase and manage the cleaning of show towels.

 Daily email check (including extended holiday breaks) and take action as required. HOD must be “cc” on all comminucations in regards to the wardrobe department, wardrobe team members, and company activities (i.e. Dark, HR, Finance, Cast Change Over, etc)

 Provide weekly wardrobe department team member roster to HR. Leads are responsible with providing the work schedule of their respective departments.

 Manage Daily and Update Time Manager

 Input and archive Annual Leave Forms that have been approved by the Leads of that team members department and final approval by HOD. Keep the Annual Leave Folder updated and have all access of archive scans of Annual Leave Forms in the Management Folder on the G Drive. The Annual Leave Folder is accessable to HOD, AHOD, Leads, and Deputies.

 Assist with Maintenance, Laundry, and be able to cover show tracks as necessary.

 Check for costume, supplies, and equipment deliveries as well as dispatch goods as necessary.

 Attend Weekly Schedule Meetings with Lead Technician and oversee that all adjustments and schedule fittings, training, and validations are kept on schedule. Inform HOD, Lead, and Deputies of any important adjustments to the overall schedule.

Support

 Oversee the Admin in maintaining and updating all wardrobe department records.
 Help maintain a costume plot and any relevant documentation.
 Help to create and evolve training and backup plans for all personnel in the department, coordinating these backup plans with other pertinent departments and stage management.
 Be respectful to the coordinate with other departments, technical director, production manager, and stage management for the scheduling and running of performances and rehearsals.
 Work with creation and artistic departments regarding changes, development and evolution of the show.

Consulted

 Assist in the supervision of a wardrobe team in the development of the show; during load in, creation, and/or during any changes to the show.
 Assist in the purchase all follow up items, create replacements as necessary, while maintaining and documenting inventory for the continuous operation of the show. Communicate with the Dragone Costume atelier and vendors for costume replacement.
 Help create schedules for all maintenance activities and training plans.
 Within the entire technical team, evolve safety programmes.
 With the technical team; establish emergency procedures for show systems, and personnel safety and rescue. Ensure the wardrobe team is trained and rehearsed in these procedures.





Other Duties:

 Attend Meetings in the absence of the HOD as requied and communicate all information to the HOD, Leads, and Deputies.
 Attend Daily Group Notes and assist and advise team members of the focus of the day.

Informed
• During all operations, assist in maintenance and costume fitting etc. including the development of repair and cleaning procedures.

Qualifications :

Education
• College or technical diploma in related field.
• Degree in related field.

Experience
• 5 to 7 Years of experience in a leadership position in a theatrical wardrobe.
• Solid background in show operations with knowledge of costume care and maintenance.
• Must be able to support the direction and organization of people calmly while respecting schedules and deadlines.

Other Skills
• Knowledge of MS Windows, and MS Office.
• SCUBA knowledge is an asset but not essential.
• Fluency in English (Written/Spoken) is essential.
