Profit-share Open Auditions: Share - The Musical

at Glass wings - Melbourne

Glass Wings Productions is putting together a new musical called "Share", which deals with youth unemployment and homelessness. We are working hard to make sure the characters are a good snapshot of the real people who are sleeping rough. We're in the midst of applying to be part of a Melbourne festival where we would be given a large production grant. Part of that grant is earmarked for payment of actors. If we get the grant we are assured lump sum payment for cast and crew. If not, we need people for publicity shots to start the usual fundraising process and people will be paid profit-share.

What we need: You must have acting training or at least deep experience. You must be able to hold a tune. The more acting and singing skills you have, the more likely we will be calling you back. Of even greater importance is your capacity to listen, be responsible, and collaborate. We need you to care more about doing a good job and ensuring the ensemble are cooperating with a real esprit de corps, than being a mega-star. I am looking for ethnic and gender diversity.

Rehearsal / production dates
We will hear from the festival when and where they want to put us up in June. They have several Melbourne venues and the festival will run from the end of October to the beginning of December. Rehearsals will start eight weeks in advance of opening.
