Full-time Lead Diver Technician

1. Main purpose of the job :

Assist the Aquatics Head of Department, Assistant Head of Department to manage a dive team in their roles of establishing and performing underwater show cue tracks related to scenery movement, performer support and safety. Maintain pool related systems, as well as dive and aquatics related equipement. Provide leadership to assigned dive teams.


2. Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible / Accountable
• Maintain safe and consistent operations for show rehearsals and performances.
• Perform show cue tracks, and organize their teams assigned cue tracks.
• Maintain and oversee the enforcement safe diving practises.
• Work with novice divers and performers until they feel comfortable working in a water environment.
• Responsible for the outfitting of their assigned dive team members, and ensure their team has the tools/equipment neccesary to complete their assigned task.
• Maintain and manage their dive teams assigned show and department specific equipment.
• Assist with the development and training of Diver Technician show cue-tracks.
• Provide feedback to the Head of Department regarding their individual team members performance.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Support
• Assist in inspecting, assembling and maintaining all aspects of equipment for training, rehearsals, performances, and special events; maintain all dive gear.
• Participate and supervise in pre-set, performance, and post-set of show equipment.
• Assist the Head of Department in reaching and maintaining the Aquatic departments mission.
• Assist with the weekly first aid and spineboard training sessions.
• Support their assigned team in safe execution of their duties.
• Support the management by implementing company policies.

Competencies
• Ability to learn or update life saving skills and/or become CPR/first responder.
• Ability to stay calm and calm others in emergency situations.
• Must have proven leadership and coaching skills.
• Must possess problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills with proven talents in safety and teamwork.
• Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, nights and week-ends.


• Ability to withstand long exposure to water.
• Demostrates effective problem solving skills.
• Experience in mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic and high pressure systems preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure.


3. Qualifications :

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Professional level diving certification with a minimum of Divemaster level for recreational diving.

Experience
• Minimum 3 years experience in professional SCUBA diving.
• Previous personnel management preferred.
• Minimun 1 years working in a theater environment.

Other Skills
• Must be fluent in the english language.
• Knowledge of MS Windows and MS office systems.
• Knowledge and certifications in Scuba diving equipment maintenance and repairs.
