Full-time Theatre in Schools Tours

/ breakdown
 Actors with a playing age 16/24 who would be confident and credible with a teenage audience.
 Each cast member will play multiple roles including that of a HS student.
 Strong performers with good comedy skills.
 For Aim Higher actors also need to be able to sing and have some movement ability.
 Experience of delivering theatre in schools would be an advantage but not essential.
 A NSW working with children check will be required before any contract is given.
 A full driving licence would be an advantage.
 It is essential that our cast is representative of our audience and encourage submissions from actors of all ethnicities.

/ payment
 Payment is $1000 per week throughout the contract (including rehearsals)
 Accommodation is provided throughout the contract in the form of a 3 bedroom shared house/apartment. (minimum 3*)
 Extra payments are payable for Team leaders and drivers but no other allowances or expenses are paid.

Cast of 3 (2 male 1 female)

Smashed engages young people in a unique way, allowing them to explore the causes and consequences of underage drinking in a safe and motivational learning environment. We use emotive theatre, interactive workshops, and interactive teaching resources all backed up with robust evaluation, with fantastic results. In the last year the project was delivered in Great Britain, Peru, Northern Ireland, China, Mozambique, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Jamaica and Gibber are proud to be bringing the project to Australian schools for the first time.

Aim Higher
Western Sydney
Cast of 3 (either 2 male/1 female or 2 female/1 male)

Aim Higher is a dynamic 45-minute, high energy “magazine style” interactive performance that uses humour, music, multi-media and popular culture to engage, inspire and inform year 7 students about the many different progression routes into tertiary education. Using identifiable characters and fun interactive scenarios that the pupils can relate to, we will dispel any preconceptions or negative attitudes towards learning, raising awareness of the specific routes into university and their accessibility for all.

Touring 19th March – 13th April

The cast will travel to each school together in a company van with one or more of the team taking on the responsibility for driving. Each cast member will be responsible for set up and pack down whilst on tour.
