Play Dead Theatre is seeking an experienced Marketing & PR Manager to promote our upcoming production of David Eldridge's dark comedy FESTEN. Performances held in July at the iconic Rippon Lea Estate Ballroom.

In July 2018, Play Dead Theatre will bring a truly unique experience to Melbourne; a site specific theatre production of David Eldridge’s play FESTEN held at the Rippon Lea Estate Ballroom. Based on the award-winning Danish film ‘The Celebration’. FESTEN is a powerful story of a large and wealthy family dinner party where poisonous dysfunction slowly presses to the surface. A riveting fusion of gripping thriller and riotous humour of the darkest kind.


In collaboration with the Artistic Director and Graphic Designer, plan and implement an exciting marketing campaign.

Support the production's goal to reach box office targets through comprehensive media coverage and online marketing.


Be the point of contact for all media enquiries for the Company.

Arrange all media interviews for Company artists and staff.

Manage the company’s social media channels.

Contact potential sponsors and act as liaison for sponsor requirements.

Monitor ticket sales and provide assistance with the maintenance of company sales statistics and analysis.

Meet and greet VIP guests, media and reviewers at shows including Opening/Closing Night.


Creative, lateral thinker.

About the company:
Play Dead Theatre is a non-for-profit Melbourne based Theatre company. Through the use of black comedy, we are drawn to stories that in part bring taboo subjects to light, allowing the stigma associated with them to be broken down. We believe in the power of theatre and its potential to remind us, through the commonality of pain, that we are not alone and that we have the power to heal and change. Through our success we hope to further the careers of everyone involved and inspire others to create their own theatre.

About the Director:
Jennifer is an award winning Writer and Theatre Director from London, England. Having worked extensively in the UK she moved to Australia in 2015 where she was AD and Vocal coach on Ghost Stories at the Sydney Opera house, and then directed the Australian Tour of the play. Most recently she directed The Haunting at the Athenaeum in Melbourne. Jennifer has worked on a number a Shakespeare Rep seasons in the UK, at Bard on the Beach in Canada and directed Melbourne Shakespeare Company\'s productions of A Midsummer Night\'s Dream, The Tempest and the Comedy of Errors, Much Ado about Nothing and Twelfth Night.
