Profit-share Actors - Auditions for Sydney Theatre Production

at Free Association - Sydney

AUDITION CALL
Originally a radio drama script Under Milk Wood’s beginnings start a one-day cycle in which we later follow the activities of the characters, as fantastic as their dreams through the morning, afternoon and into the second night of this ‘town that never was’…”
Taken from radio and transforming it for stage, director Luke Butler will present a small, quaint, sleepy sea side village, filled to its’ quirky brim with eclectic towns folk. Milk Wood is the setting and home of those who create the world that is ‘ Under Milk Wood’ . Retired sea captains,
young lovers, murderous husbands, single mothers, Multiple partners of masters’ and mistresses’, memories of long dead, and the games of naive youth. There is not one single story, but a collection of tall tales that entertain us. Mad, funny, and simple, Under Milk Wood reminds us of the innocence of everyday life that is so easily lost.
Described by Milk Wood’s Welsh writer, Dylan Thomas, himself, Under Milk Wood is “…strangely simple and simply strange…”

One act, 50 characters, six actors.
