Synopsis

Caroline is eighteen and has just been 'rescued' from a cult by her mother, and is being held in a farmhouse near Tharwa. She is being held there so Harry, an exit counsellor, can convince her to leave the cult. But this is no ordinary religious cult - it's a weight loss cult.

Caroline had been seriously overweight coming up to her year 12 exams the year before when she suddenly quit school and went to live and work at a weight loss retreat near Tharwa. She cut off contact with her mother, refusing all attempts at communication.

The main problem Harry faces is the cult has delivered on its promise and made Caroline thin and beautiful and loved. How will he get her to leave it? Especially since she is convinced she is a sugar addict and that if she returns to mainstream society she will die. Worse still, when everyone involved in the counselling begins to fall under the spell of her beauty things get right out of control.

Simon Says is a comedy drama.
