Stage Manager, Touring ensemble production of Romeo and Juliet
at Eagle's Nest Theatre - Melbourne
Eagle’s Nest Theatre is dedicated to creating affordable, accessible and exciting productions/programs for schools and regional areas by connecting with the best of Melbourne’s independent artists.
We have created a touring ensemble to satisfy our school production commitments and to provide improved profit-share earning potential for our artists.
We are seeking the services of a stage manager who will be available throughout 2010 (commencing January 2010) for our production of Romeo and Juliet.
This production will be ready to tour throughout the year from April 2010 and will be available on demand to schools and other clients.
The stage manager will:
• be available for possible weekend and day rehearsals as well as nights.
• work with the director to organise schedules for, and facilitate, rehearsals.
• communicate with cast and crew.
• maintain the production post-April 2010.
• be able to think on their feet.
• be responsible for taking notes for blocking, lighting cues, prop usage, costume changes and entrances of performers.
Individuals interested in this position should be aware of, and be available during, the production timeline:
• Casting will commence in January.
• Rehearsals will be February through March.
• Touring will commence in April.
Payment is through profit-share.
The stage manager reports directly to the producer and director.
