Volunteer Call for Professional & Emerging Writers

at The Colour blind Project - Sydney

Producers are calling for professional and emerging writers to submit original short works for a brand new, very unique, theatre festival entitled, The Colour Blind Project.

The Colour Blind Project is a curated festival celebrating independent, innovative and new works for performance in order to showcase the diverse pool of multi-cultural talent in Australia.

The Colour Blind Project festival is not just about telling another ‘ethnic’ story, but about embracing the multicultural artists of Australian society and portraying them in a light that is a part of Australian society, rather than something that is ‘different’ or external – something that an Australian audience has rarely seen before.

Short works are requested for the first ever Colour Blind Project festival to be held at Tap Gallery Theatre, Darlinghurst at the end of June, 2010. Your short work must be an original response to “HALFWAY”.

We are looking for works that are robust and cover a range of styles and genres. Short works must be no longer than 20 minutes, but can vary from 5 to 20 minutes and can be anything from monologues, musical acts, comedy pieces, short scenes or short plays. Variations or adaptations of classical texts will also be considered. If you are interested in submitting a movement piece please contact us directly to discuss your work.

Info packs and application forms are available upon request by emailing thecolourblindproject@hotmail.com

Submissions close 5pm, Monday 22nd March.
