Call for Performers
at Eagle's Nest Theatre - Melbourne
Eagle’s Nest Theatre is offering an opportunity for you to put on your show as part of our 2010 Season 1 program. We are seeking expressions of interest from artists for proposals to fill timeslots at Studio 2 at Northcote Town Hall. We will also be presenting Cosi by Louis Nowra and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
The season will consist of 5 shows on the 15th, 16th, 18th, 19th, and 22nd of May. The available timeslots are 5.00pm and 8.00pm.
There will be no up front cost to the artists, and a door split arrangement will be negotiated.
Eagle’s Nest is able to provide:
- rehearsal space, some of which will be in the performance venue.
- lighting stock and desk.
- production support (Front of House Management including Booking/Ticketing System infrastructure).
- some publicity support will also be available (exposure on season publicity material).
- our insurance will also cover performances.
Performers are required to:
- provide their own stage manager and tech crew, costumes, sets and properties.
- arrange production and distribution of their own flyers and posters.
- their own publicity campaign, including creating a web presence (i.e. Facebook, Myspace, and other opportunities for exposure).
- fulfil a small commitment in assisting with Front of House and Bookings.
We have no fixed concept of the sort of performances we are looking for, we simply wish to assist in providing an affordable space to enable artists of all disciplines to present their work.
We will be assessing applications as we receive them. Please do not hesitate in submitting. We don’t want you to waste hours drafting a formal proposal - just give us an idea of your performance concept, who you are, what you’ve done and why you would like to do this. Once we have received your application we will contact you to discuss the arrangement in further detail.
