Violent Delights Sydney Fringe Festival. Rehearsal in Melbourne.

Fresh off our successful run in America Violent Delights is going to the 2010 Sydney Fringe... AND WE WANT YOU!!!!
Our show is Violent Delights – this isn't your grandparents' Shakespeare!
Our 120 minute show has had four successful productions in Melbourne and the United States and it's now been selected for the inaugural Sydney Fringe. Our show explores the pleasure and pain in Shakespeare's plays. A bouffon pack of eight semi-demented clowns playing 48 characters shepherds audiences through a non-stop onslaught of racy, raw scenes from some of the Bard's best-beloved works. You've never seen Shakespeare like this before! At turns comic and sinister, raucous and hilarious, Violent Delights is bloody...good fun.
We are Cardboard Suitcase Productions, an American/Australian theatre company dedicated to the notion of international theatre exchange, and we're looking for 1-2 female and 3-4 male actors who are in love with Shakespeare and up for some really, really physical theatre!
Before you audition here are some this to be aware of:
- Our fringe performance dates are September 21st, 24th, 25th, and 26th (2 shows). There is a possibility of 2 extension around these dates.
- The show will be rehearsed in Melbourne and then taken to Sydney a few days before our opening night (dates TBC)
- The production will endeavour to provide all cast and crew with accommodation in Sydney however, all company members will need to have their own means of travel to Sydney.
- Rehearsals will run mostly in the evenings and on weekends, however if cast you will not be called to every rehearsal. Therefore we have some decent flexibility with scheduling issues - just let us know your needs when you audition.
- Violent Delights is a profit-share production; however there will be no up-front payments or per-diems for actors.
Auditions will take place on Saturday 3rd July. Please note: audition times and location are TBD. It will be a group audition runing for 60-90 minutes. Please specify if you would prefer morning or afternoon.
