‘The Balinese Princess & the Funky Monkey’ by Lela McGregor
A children’s musical like never before!
Season: 10th – 22nd January 2011, Melbourne City Conference Centre (MCCC)
Contract Position (approx 56 hours over 5 month period)
$3,000.00 net fee Start date end of September 2010.
Must be able to attend and assist with the directing of auditions and rehearsals which Are every Tuesday night and Saturday all day commencing 26th October – January 8th 2011. Exact scheduling will be given to successful applicants at interview.
Position Description:
Deep in the heart of the Balinese Forest, lives the Princess Ayu and her best-friend, Kren – the cheekiest monkey on the island! When Ayu’s mother passes away, she and Kren must save the magical kingdom and the lovable forest monkeys from the terrible fiery mountain before it’s too late.
E1 Productions seeks a fun, fresh and relatively experienced choreographer to support the director and musical director with this original children’s musical.
You would be required to choreograph pieces and advise Director on movement for approximately :
- 6 choreographic specific dance pieces
- 7 ensemble movement pieces for up to 9 performers.
It is essential that you have an advanced background in Jazz Ballet and/or Hip-Hop and experience in traditional Asian style dance would be highly regarded.
