Profit-share Actors needed for new Sydney play

at Curry for Lunch New South Wales

Curry for Lunch? revolves around a modern day family lunch in which Jason, a young Anglo Australian, brings home his Sri Lankan Australian girlfriend to meet his family. The play promotes multicultural values and explores social attitudes; examining how a family, which considers itself open-minded and liberal, overreacts to an interracial relationship.

Performance dates: first 2 weeks of February 2011
Rehearsals will be held through November – January. Catering will be provided at all rehearsals. Actors will be given a small fee.

We will organise an appropriate audition time.

Actors will be required to read a small section of the play which they will be sent prior to the audition.

When an audition time has been arranged, we will send you a more detailed description of the character/s you are auditioning for.

Casting -
Helen - Older Anglo Australian woman. Jason, Ally and Megan’s mother. Caring, kind and always anxious. Also slightly judgemental.
Females, aged 35 to 70 from New South Wales, Aus Ethnicity: White / Caucasian

Eshan
Early twenties, Sri Lankan Australian. Ashwini’s younger brother. Works in a law firm. Friendly and relaxed.
Males, aged 20 to 26 from New South Wales, Aus Ethnicity: East Indian

Jason
anglo Australian. Jovial, friendly and loud, with a caring, loving side. Likes to shock his family - a bit of a prankster. A typical laid back, \"Aussie guy\".
Males, aged 25 to 30 from New South Wales, Aus
