Auditions for Dark Summer
at OK Productions - Melbourne
OK Productions is casting DARK SUMMER, a new Australian play to be staged at Chapel off Chapel as part of the 2011 Midsumma Festival. Director, Cameron Menzies. Rehearsals commence January 3. Season, January 27-February 6.
Actors (who must be MEAA members) will be engaged under the Equity Approved Agreement for members working in productions not covered by MEAA awards. Actors will receive a guaranteed minimum fee and a percentage of the net profit.
Auditions: Sunday, December 12 & Monday, December 13 at Studio 1, Chapel off Chapel, 12 Little Chapel St. Prahran. Melways 2L J10.
Roles:
1. Peter van Helsing. A psychiatrist. A skilled, dedicated doctor with great natural authority. Age range 40-50.
2. Jonathan Harker. A lawyer. Personable, easy-going. Age range 28-35.
3. David West. A lawyer. Handsome, charming. Jonathan's partner. Age range 25-30.
4. Bill Renfield. A mental hospital patient. Delusional. Highly intelligent. Age range 35-45.
5. Lucy Harker. Jonathan's sister. Attractive, bright, self-assured. Aged 17.
Auditionees are asked to prepare a speech, preferably from an Australian play. Maximum length three minutes. They will also be sent a short speech from Dark Summer to prepare.
