Eagles Nest Theatre Company - Season 1 May 9-29
General Information
We are seeking actors for our forthcoming production of Cosi by Louis Nowra. We are very happy to have secured acclaimed NIDA graduate Alan Chambers who will be relocating to Melbourne for the production.
Cosi is to be staged as part of a 3 week general public season at Northcote Town Hall. In addition to the performances at Northcote we will be touring the production to schools during the season dates. This means that there will be both daytime and evening performances.
Payment for this position is on a cut-of-the-door basis. With a number of school bookings already confirmed the production will be starting the general public season from a break even point. This means that all of the door takings from the general public season will go directly into profit share. We also anticipate that Cosi will have a broad appeal and sell well, and that the import works will bring a substantial audience with them.
Details
Auditions will be held from February 20th to February 25th
If necessary, call backs will occur on February 27th
Please note the following
- Auditions will be 30 minutes in duration
- Actors will be paired for auditions, but will not be expected to prepare with their audition partner.
- Actors are expected to prepare a short piece of text from the play.
- Actors should have a particular role or roles in mind when auditioning
- Please identify which role or roles you would like to audition for in your application so that the details of your audition piece can be sent to you.
- Please be aware that you may be asked to read for a character other than the role you have prepared.
- Actors need send a copy of their CV and a headshot with their audition application.
If you would like Eagle’s Nest Theatre to keep your CV on file please bring a copy of your CV and Headshot to your audition.
The first read-through will be held on Sunday 6th of March
From this date, until the commencement of the season, the weekly rehearsal schedule will be: Tuesday and Thursday nights, and all day Sunday.
Applicants must be available on Sundays and should be generally available for the weeknight rehearsal dates.
Applicants must be available for the first read.
Applicants must be available day and night from the 16th to the 26th of May as there will be schools performances in the day and general public performances in the evening.
Applicants should also be available from the 2nd to the 9th of May for Technical Rehearsals.
