We are looking for an experienced male voice actor with excellent vocal control for several voices of Japanese soldiers and their commander. These characters are portrayed as recorded voice-over for “The Shoe-Horn Sonata” by John Misto. The play focuses on the memories of two protagonists, Sheila and Bridie, regarding their experiences in a Japanese P.O.W. camp in Sumatra, on the 50th anniversary of the end of WWII.

Our objective is to remain sensitive to the humanity and horrors of war and its effects on all involved, to act as a memorial and so all experiencing the production can learn from the past. Auditions are being held in Penrith on Wednesday evening, 9th February 2010. Auditions will require a short prepared monologue and a short workshop of the play’s material.
