VCA Foundation Year - Acting Studio: Starting Soon
at Victorian College of the Arts - Melbourne
Our Acting Studio is a wonderful, rigourous and rewarding part-time course. It is a foundation year, evening course, aimed at introducing the essential skills of acting and performance making and enhancing artistic expression. The curriculum has been designed to introduce and develop in you, the skills of theatre and film and television acting which are extended through practice and showings. The course is developmental in nature and thus we emphasise participants only stand to gain the maximum benefit and skill development by year’s end.
Tutors in Acting Studio are both skilled teachers and industry practitioners. Their connections with the School of Performing Arts are various: as professional colleagues, as alumni, as previous and present sessional teaching staff of the full-time courses. This is to ensure a strong synergy with the teaching processes and philosophy of the VCA Performing Arts proper.
The course is non-award and whilst there is no formal assessment, as the course progresses, capacity for learning scripts and scene work increases and is recommended in order to attain maximum benefit from the course and your tutors. Participants are issued with a Certificate of Completion at the end of the course, based on minimum attendance requirements and participation.
