Freelance Actor in Business

at amy silver - Melbourne

We need professional actors for our training and coaching company. We go into businesses and help their staff become better communicators through courses such as handling difficult conversations, managing your staff well, improving your confidence, negotiation etc. We are driven by up to date psychology theory and uses very vibrant and innovative teaching methods to help the delegates learn. We need professional, bright, thoughtful, high energy and charismatic actors to help facilitate our training workshops and coaching sessions. The actors can be male or female, of any age (although there is a leaning towards those over 30ish) and able to play the role of a worker in a big corporate office (e.g. a busy manager, a high flyer who is not listened to by his boss, an anxious top level executive etc). The actual roles would vary depending on the exact needs of the workshop. However, the actor would need to be versatile and able to quickly shift between roles if necessary. Improvisation is a large part of the work as delegates on the courses will 'use' the actors to try out the lessons learnt within the training and there will be some 'forum theatre'. Actors may also be required (this will always be rehearsed) to facilitate acting games and contribute to helping the delegates 'loosen' up. A background in another profession is highly desirable (e.g. psychology, business, law, writing) and an interest in psychology. The actors who become part of our team will be high level thinkers and if interested will be involved in the devising of the courses for this inspiring training company. At this stage we are calling for interested people to apply and we will be holding a first level workshop audition to select suitable actors. We will book you on a freelance basis for individual days (generally with several weeks notice) and you will be paid well. We are an ethical and spiritual company and aspire to really making a difference for people who come on our courses and for ourselves, and we believe that if we enjoy ourselves the work will be successful. Please provide your cv including any background in other professions, any corporate acting you have done or facilitating of training. Applications with showreels or websites with showreels will be looked at first.
