Volunteer Lady Scorpio Productions seeking male and female actors for upcoming One-Act Play Festivals

Lady Scorpio Productions is an independent theatre company who have showcased and performed their work in Australia and overseas – now we’re ready to take on the One-Act Play Festivals around Australia with our work & would love for fellow creatives who would love to try something new and collaborative to join our team as we take on and showcase our work to a broader audience –

The Weekend – One Act Play – Written & Directed by Josie Parrelli
Synopsis: Lucy and Julian are a married couple who are a successful theatre performers, they have just received awards and accolades for their show ‘Baltimora’, this is their final performance of the show.

The Flowers Don’t Grow Here Anymore – One Act Play – Written & Directed by Josie Parrelli
Synopsis: Old school friends and married couples Martha, Brian, Paul and Suzie spend the afternoon reflecting on their memories of their friendship that they have had since their school days after the funeral of a close friend, everyone is talking except Paul who is consumed with anger and refuses to be a part of the reminiscing. What is the truth behind Paul’s anger and refusal.

THE WEEKEND
Julian: This is the lead role for the One-Act Play ‘The Weekend’ female role already cast
Character synopsis: Married to Lucy (female lead), actor, performing is his life, his distractor, success is everything to him

Males, aged 25 to 35 from Victoria, Australia

THE FLOWERS DON’T GROW HERE ANYMORE
Suzie: Female lead in the One-Act play ‘The Flowers Don’t Grow Here Anymore’ – Character synopsis: Nurturing loving person married to Paul

Martha: Support actress role in the One-Act play ‘The Flowers Don’t Grow Here Anymore’
Character synopsis: Unfazed and goes about her business, married to Brian

  • Females, aged 25 to 40 from Victoria, Australia

Paul: Male lead for the One-Act play ‘The Flowers Don’t Grow Here Anymore’
Character synopsis: Angry character, unresolved issues, married to Suzie

Brian: Support actor role in the One-Act play ‘The Flowers Don’t Grow Here Anymore’
Character synopsis: Successful career man, uncomplicated an no nonsense, married to Martha

  • Males, aged 30 to 45 from Victoria, Australia

Auditions will be held Sunday June 19th & Monday June 20th – One-Act Play Festivals August – October ** Must be available to travel to NSW & Tasmania for two of the festivals.
