A Cappella group looking for a new vocalist
at Jessica Graham - Melbourne
Hi all,
I'm looking to add a talented member or two to my a cappella vocal group. We're particularly looking for a rich alto or high tenor voice, but all strong vocalists will be considered.
We (three gals) have been singing together for six months, refining our skills and style. We have built a number of four- to six-part pieces, so we're looking for creative musical folk to jump on board! We're currently building our skills and repertoire, with an eye to performing in the not-too-distant future.
We sing a wide range of music, getting wider every week. We're currently studying the close harmonies of jazz arrangement, as well as adapting classical pieces (as one of our goals is to perform at weddings), and pop/indie pieces (so far: Beatles, Regina Spektor,Lily Allen, Ben Folds, Broadway...) Budding composers/arrangers will also get a hand in arranging music if that's something you're interested in.
Ability to read music is highly preferable.
Sight singing is a bonus.
Beat boxing is an extra bonus... ;)
Commitment to our rehearsal schedule is crucial!
We rehearse weekly in Mont Albert North VIC, mostly on Friday evenings from 5pm-7pm.
I will be gathering applications for the next week, and there's a group audition scheduled for this Saturday at 3pm. Let me know if you are interested and whether you can make Saturday's session or whether you'd like to be informed of future audition sessions (we'll keep looking til we find our perfect member!).
