Freelance Production Manager

at Crack Theatre Festival New South Wales

Crack Theatre Festival, part of This Is Not Art is looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee our technical operations. Presenting the work of experimental and emerging artists, we produce a festival of performances, forums, panels and workshops.

This is a paid position, attracting a set fee for the engagement.

Overseeing a small voluntary team of Site Managers, the Production Manager is responsible for ensuring appropriate equipment and set up in non-theatre spaces, and the smooth running of five festival venues. Working closely with the festival Co-directors and design team the Production Manager will utilize their skills and experience to coordinate the installation and operation of sound, lighting, and audiovisual requirements of each of the venues. There will be some essential preproduction and planning, however the bulk of the project is from Sept 25 - October 5.This position is for a set fee with basic accommodation in Newcastle over the festival period included.

Essential Selection Criteria
· Experience working in production within a festival context

· Strong understanding of contemporary performance and theatre

· Proven ability to work under time constraints

· Ability to manage a voluntary team with mixed skill set

· Driver’s license
