'METAMORPHOSES' by MARY ZIMMERMAN

Audition Notice:

Mary Zimmerman’s Tony award-winning 'Metamorphoses'

Rehearsals: Part-time from November 2011
Performances: July 2012
We are looking to cast an ensemble of actors with specific roles allocated during the rehearsal process. All actors will play multiple roles.
Auditions will be held on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October. Alternate audition times can be requested.
Audition Requirements:
A 1-2 minute monologue from either: a classic Greek Play; Shakespeare; or a play by Tennessee Williams
AND EITHER:
A 1-2 minute movement piece of your choice (ranging from something as simple as moving in an interesting way from one side of the room to another to a more elaborate movement sequence) OR
The performance of a poem. Perform the poem creating your own unique physical, vocal, sound and movement ideas. Poem should be 1-2 minutes and must include movement components.
You may be given direction on either of the above and may be asked to read short excerpts from the play.
Metamorphoses is a challenging and incredibly expressive theatrical piece. We are seeking actors who are willing to express themselves in a free and creative way and who are willing to use their imaginations to bring ideas and make choices.
Please Note:
This is a co-op production and performers will be engaged on a profit-share basis
Performers should be comfortable with: highly physical movement; some physical exposure (full nudity is not essential) and working in and around water.
