Part-time LADIES NIGHT

at Jally Entertainment National

AUDITIONS
The ultimate night out!

The story of five unemployed blokes, motivated by ‘The Chippendales’ to form a male stripping act, in order to make some fast cash.

Written in 1987 by New Zealanders Anthony McCarten and Stephen Sinclair, Ladies Night has been translated into twelve languages and remains New Zealand’s most commercially successful play of all time. With eight sell-out tours of Britain and the U.K., it won France’s premiere theatre award for comedy-
The Molière Prize, in 2001.
Watch the guys as they attempt to dance and strip to some old favourites - ‘You Can Leave Your Hat On’, ‘Wild Thing’ and ‘Smooth Operator’
It’s the kind of show you can even take your Granny to see… cheeky, fun, a little bit naughty and a good giggle!

TOURING DATES (TBC) - Thursday 2nd August to Saturday 20th October 2012 –Touring 48 venues across Qld, NSW, Vic, SA & WA.
Rehearsals - will be in Noosa – 2 weeks prior.
Touring – all transport (from Noosa), shared accommodation and tour contract fee inclusive of a LAH allowance
Detailed is character information. The roles of Bernie and Glenda are cast.

• GRAHAM - Noisy, rough and vulgar. Homophobic, but reluctant to admit it, likes a good joke, as long as it’s not about him. Wouldn’t change a thing about himself, a man’s man.

• NORMAN - Gentle, kind and loving, has a slight stutter, which makes him uncomfortable with the girls. He is low in confidence and goes with the crowd.

• WES – (Can be non-Caucasian) Wes has a good body and he knows it, he plays football and has a great sense of humour, well-liked by everyone.

• BARRY - A working class family man with strong stereotypical views. He plays guitar, but his aspirations of making it big, as a musician are a struggle, much like his marriage is. His best friend is Graham.

• CRAIG - Good looking with a cocky air of self-importance. Never far from his phone, he is a wheeler-dealer, with an eye for the main chance. He is very charming and popular with the ladies.

• GAVIN - Is middle aged, over-weight and articulate, until recently he still lived at home, with his mother.
These men all worked together as mechanics, until they were laid off. Consequently they have known each other for quite some time and it can be seen in the easy affection they share, the comfortable familiarity; the playful pushing and shoving around that they constantly indulge in. Let's say they know just how far they can push each other, which means they also know where to stick the knife if the need arises. They’re good friends.
