Senior Technician – Digitals Arts & Events
Production
Variable Time @ 25pw, Band 2.3.26 – Salary $52,711 pro rata

The Business Unit
Production enables the delivery of Arts Centre Melbourne and visiting artist performing arts events wherever they may take place. Production comprises staging, lighting, wardrobe, stage management, sound, safety, training, digital arts, events and technical team members.

Current Position Opportunity
This position requires an experienced individual to participate in our Digital Arts & Events team, across all areas of the complex.

Typical duties performed at this level may include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Set up and delivery for events, in a team and individually
• With the Operations Manager – Digital Arts & Events coordinate the work of other staff
• Delivering procedures and practices to comply with safety requirements
• Operate & manage the use of lighting consoles, sound consoles, projectors, cameras, vision mixing and recording equipment & relevant software
• Participating in event & venue documentation including fault reporting, consumables and charges
• Participating in venue and daily maintenance
• Provide technical support and guidance to presenters in the delivery of the Digital Arts & Events outcomes

Applicant Requirements
• Completed a relevant Diploma at a recognised institution or a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with a Digital Arts & Event crew in the theatre, corporate or entertainment industry
• Dogmans Certificate, Forklift and Test & Tag license preferable
• Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of special event and corporate style event delivery, including a strong focus on customer service and personal presentation and communication
• Knowledge in the use & set up of Audio, Staging & Lighting systems, Audio Visual technologies, Video Capture & Editing systems used in the event industry.
• Strong understanding of equipment use & event practices including; rigging & focusing lamps, patching sound equipment, AV set ups, computer based networking, wireless microphones, projectors, vision mixers, media servers, cameras, lighting consoles & audio console operation
