Audrey and The Professor
at Henry Lawson Theatre, Werrington - Sydney
One of the most well-established amateur theatres in Western Sydney is presenting an hilarious new comedy for children (and adults alike) "Audrey and the Professor".
Audrey, a Sydney teenager, has chosen a fabled ring with magical powers - The Kapoodledroodle – to be the subject of her school project. When she accidently makes contact with the ring over the internet, she is transported through time and space to Paris in 1889. Not only does she locate the ring, she meets its unknowing custodian, the eccentric inventor Professor Julius Blanc.
Having proved the Kapoodledroodle is not a myth, Audrey is eager to be home in time for dinner and to finish her project. But the mischievous ring has other plans. It transports both Audrey and the Professor to ancient Rome!
This play is a world premier and we require a cast of about 20 enthusiastic and dedicated amateurs of all ages. There are large roles requiring very good comedic skills, as well as small roles and non-speaking roles. So if you're looking for a place to start this is it.
Auditions will take place at the Henry Lawson Club, Henry Lawson Ave (next door to the Caltex) in Werrington on Wednesday, Sept 5, 2012 at 7:30 pm. Persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Werrington is half way between St Marys and Penrith.
Rehearsals commence in late September. There will be a two week break over Christmas-New Year and we open on January 11 for three weekends.
To apply, send an email to wayneguy3@bigpond.com. Tell me your age and experience and include a photo if possible, I will send you the appropriate audition pieces.
